Computer Classes
The
Center has a wonderfully-equipped, 12-computer classroom to teach computer courses and offers hands-on
instruction for adults in the South King
and North Pierce counties.
In these courses you
can learn the basic skills of using a computer; get advice on purchasing a new
or used computer, or upgrading an existing system; and, review
the
selection of appropriate
software programs, including web based
training essential in today's business environment.
Please note
that we only teach the use of PCs (Personal Computers, such as Dell,
IBM, HP, Gateway), and not
Apple/Macs. Courses are priced at a very reasonable $3.00 / class hour,
plus the price of the textbook. In many cases, books are
optional or the student can sell them back at the end of the
course.
Below are our class
descriptions, or you can click on the name of any class
to get a more detailed explanation.

You may also leave your name and
phone number on our voice mail at
(253) 927-6974 and
someone will get back to you.

Tuition
Increase January, 2012
Please note that beginning January 1,
2012, tuition for our computer classes will increase to
$3.00 per hour. In September, 2012, they will increase again
to $4.00 per hour, where we hope to keep the price for
several years. Prices below reflect this change.
These increases--our first in over 15
years--were made primarily to assist the Senior Center
financially. And even at $4.00 an hour classes at the FWSC
are still unbelievable bargains...just check out the prices
for computer courses at nearby community colleges, community
centers, and senior centers to see what we mean. If you need
to repeat a class, tuition is half-price. Classes will
remain the same duration and will continue to be taught by
our wonderful volunteer faculty.
Thank you for understanding.
