Excel 2013 covers all the Excel processing features illustrated in the textbook described below.  Also a CD is provided which contains the same practice files used in the classroom. This class meets weekly for three 2-hour sessions.

Word 2013 teaches the basics of Microsoft Office and covers all the word process features illustrated in the textbook.   This class meets weekly for 2-hour sessions. 
 
Cost: $20.00 tuition, plus the textbook described below.

Word 2010 teaches the basics of Microsoft Office and covers all the word processing features illustrated in the textbook (below). Also, the CD provided to each student contains files associated with creating mailing lists. This class meets weekly for four 2-hour sessions.

Using Email covers composing and replying to emails, attaching and downloading documents, contact lists and generally becoming familiar with your email program. You'll also be discover how to spot spam, hoaxes and phishing emails. This course will be held weekly for three 2-hour sessions. (Note: also check out the Navigating the Internet, which is a "companion" class to Using Email.)  

Cost: $27; includes handouts

Notes: Students will get much more out of the class if they have access to the internet at home or the office. An email address is also REQUIRED (if you don't have an email address, we can set you up with one!).

PowerPoint 2013 covers creating presentation slides. These include colorful pictures and audio (voice and/or music). The CD provided adds detail not covered in the text. This class meets weekly for two 2-hour sessions. This class meets weekly for two 2-hour sessions.

Windows 8.1 Operating System class will use the classroom desktop computers (without touch screens). The class will start by covering the various ways to navigate the start screen as well as the desktop screen. Then the text subjects will be reviewed which include how to work with files and applications (called Apps). This class meets weekly for five 2-hour sessions.

Windows 7 Operating System classes teach the basics of these systems and how to use the built-in features. This class meets weekly for five 2-hour sessions.

Digital Photo Editing uses Picasa--a free photo-editing and organization program that    teaches basic digital photo editing skills such as red-eye removal, cropping, color correction, and touch-ups. It also covers emailing/attaching photos, and special photography projects. This course meets weekly for three 2-hour sessions.

Introduction to Facebook will show you the ins and out of this popular social networking website. You will fill out your profile, learn about security and privacy issues, and explore the many facets of this site. This course is for three 2-hour sessions. 
Note: A Facebook account is REQUIRED, in order to get the most out of the class. If you do not already have a Facebook account, you will need to come to the first session 30 minutes early in order to set one up. An email address is required to start a Facebook account.
Cost: $24.00; includes handouts


Class starts Thursday, October 14 and runs for 3 weeks. Class is 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
